Global Event Marketing Manager

Role Purpose:                      

To manage, develop and deliver global events and campaigns to increase brand awareness, generate high-quality leads for advancing the company’s sales pipeline.  Create our approach to events working with the wider sales and marketing teams, to design a world-class program of events that exceed the competition. Working both direct to market and with reseller partners across multiple channels executing events, (webinars, conferences, tradeshows and our own internal events) globally, this role involves international travel.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The Global Event Marketing Manager is expected to:

  • Own and develop the EO events program, creating impactful campaigns for the target audience and delivering value to sales.
  • Ensure the successful planning and execution of EO events, including event selection, booth design & management, contract negotiation and budget management, staff and attendee communication, messaging, content and branding and general logistics.
  • Managing stakeholders, including the wider Sales & Marketing team, senior leadership, and the rest of the business.  Promote key people in the organization as ‘thought leaders’ ‘key note speakers’ at specific industry events.
  • Support resellers and partners at approved events with branding, product and marketing collateral to represent us on our behalf.
  • Working with the Regional Sales Directors and wider team, uncover event opportunities and create a recommended events marketing strategy
  • Lead the creation of content for events, including white papers, presentations and supporting collateral.
  • Develop metrics and insight on the ROI of events working with the CRM team, reporting regularly.
  • External communications: Work with the Communications Manager to design integrated communication campaigns for events, to drive key product value propositions, company vision and sales messaging for increased attendee engagement in support of sales. This includes websites and registration site, meetings and invitations, press interviews, social media etc.
  • Internal Communication: Effectively communicate event plans to stakeholders and extended team on event progress, key milestones and action plans throughout the planning process.
  • Support sales enablement efforts for all regions, providing Sales teams and partners with messaging, sales tools and customer stories to win against competition at events.

Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. /B.A.) required. Master's degree preferred. Business, Marketing or Communications field of study preferred.
  • Experience in event management, Marketing communications and/or project management preferred.
  • Experience in Earth Observation market or remote sensing desirable.
  • Command of English is mandatory.

Skills:

  • 8+ years marketing experience, with a solid understanding and experience managing large trade-shows, regional events, roadshows and company events including scoping and goal setting, overall project management and execution, analysis and reporting.
  • Proven success in managing external vendors and suppliers, and logistics experience hotels, shipping, contracts, etc.
  • Highly skilled at critical decision-making; ability to evaluate business issues and resolve problems; ability to develop and write a marketing plan and supporting value and positioning
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Creative thinker and strong collaborative approach.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS office skills.

Other:

Available to travel internationally on a regular basis in excess of 50%
